South African Rapper Skim G aka Spha Shangase was born in Umvoti, KwaZulu Natal in 1983.
He grew up listening to Tupac, 50Cent and Zola.
He describes his music as hardcore and original Hip Hop.
Through his music, he encourages people to be positive and to stand up for themselves. He also encourages people to be proud of who they are and where they come from,
Music is where he can explore his thoughts and express himself freely. He is determined to change the perception that one cannot be a rapper you if come from a rural area and that hip hop is only about gangsterism and vulgar language.
His other interests are business & advertising, driving mini cars with big and fast engines, sky diving, rugby, football and tennis and he listens to many different genres of music.
