Darrien Luke Samuel - a man that can't be "boxed"


Coming from a musical family, it was during their special time together with their dad playing guitar and a young Darrien singing along, that they discovered this beautiful voice.

Darrien truly fell in love with music when he heard the song Amazing Grace for the first time and immediately knew that this is what he wanted to do for the rest of his life.


This multi-talented artist who grew up being a dancer also has always loved the entertainment industry.


Having started out in House Music, Darrien effortlessly transitioned to a familiar genre – he is currently working on his very first Gospel Album titled “Merciful”, which is scheduled for release later in 2018.


Darrien makes good clean music with simple messages and no vulgarity. Many have described his unique tone as a fresh new sound. Through his music, he tells stories which inspire other people who share his dream to keep going despite the challenges and to never give up. Being bullied and told he would not make it motivated him to prove to firstly himself and to others that anything is possible through Christ who strengthens him and if you put your mind to it.


Darrien has performed on TV shows such as YoTV SABC1, Hectic Nine-9 SABC2 and Expresso Show SABC3 and his 2 House music videos aired on SABC3, CHANNEL O, GLOW TV, CAPE TOWN TV, 1KZN TV to name a few.


With 3 singles released in both House & Gospel, he has been playlisted on Durban Youth Radio, Inanda FM, Lotus FM, Emalahleni FM, Highway Radio, Gagasi FM, Divine Touch Radio & DUT Radio.


Darrien has shared the stage with Kyle Deutch, Ryan BIP, Iceness, Fabee, Alvin Lay Roo and Thusga.
